Andon is a Lean manufacturing tool for detecting and addressing production issues in real time. Originating from Toyota, it uses visual and auditory alarms triggered by operators or equipment to summon help without leaving the workstation. Once addressed, issues are logged to support ongoing process improvements.
Operators trigger alerts using buttons, cords, or panels, which notify the right personnel through lights, sounds, or screens. Custom features, like fault codes or musical alarms, ensure the message reaches the correct recipient quickly.
